Dorin Vârșan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Valeriu Buzea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicodim Curtean got free with Ionică Tomoiu in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Aristide Creangă came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the FC Hermannstadt fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aristide Creangă couldn't finish the play. Diudiu's Panait Şteflea got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorin Vârșan in the 14th minute of play forced FC Hermannstadt's goalkeeper Valeriu Buzea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ionică Tomoiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denis Pomuț, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ionică Tomoiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denis Pomuț, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. FC Hermannstadt's Denis Pomuț got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Diudiu's Florin Herea got a free kick in the 30th minute. FC Hermannstadt's Edgar Vernescu got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 33rd minute, Ivan Marghescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Panait Şteflea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Diudiu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Hermannstadt the free kick. FC Hermannstadt's Nicodim Curtean got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 43rd minute, Denis Grămescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. FC Hermannstadt's Denis Pomuț got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ionică Tomoiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denis Pomuț, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. With a little luck, Diudiu's Ionică Tomoiu got control of the ball when Nicodim Curtean tried to sneak it across the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Denis Pomuț was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Denis Pomuț in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ionică Tomoiu saved Diudiu from getting behind. The supporters of FC Hermannstadt booed when Diudiu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florin Herea didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 55th minute, Denis Pomuț ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ionică Tomoiu was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Ionică Tomoiu came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Hermannstadt's Denis Pomuț. But to his dismay, Denis Pomuț quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. 65 minutes into the match, Nicodim Curtean notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Diudiu's Ionică Tomoiu. Ionică Tomoiu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Panait Tache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 69 played minutes Diudiu got a freekick which was hit by Eugen Scaeru. Ionică Tomoiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicodim Curtean, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pompiliu Mantoiu kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. If Denis Pomuț had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th minute, Dorin Vârșan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Valeriu Buzea. The goal made the score 4-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Panait Tache in the 78th minute of play forced Diudiu's goalkeeper Ionică Tomoiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nicodim Curtean scored 5-1 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ionică Tomoiu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Diudiu's zone, Panait Tache stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ionică Tomoiu came out of the goal and Panait Tache tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 84th minute, Denis Pomuț got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 87 minutes into the game, Denis Pomuț cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-1. Ionică Tomoiu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 90 played minutes FC Hermannstadt got a freekick which was hit by Panait Tache. The referee felt a red card was in order, 97 minutes into the game, when Marius Rada put in a rough tackle. After 98 played minutes Diudiu got a freekick which was hit by Marius Rada. It was beautiful to see FC Hermannstadt's Marcu Urduban in action when he in the 100th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. FC Hermannstadt fully deserved thier win.
