Călin Buricea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mircea Ispir having to interfere. In the 9th minute, Gigi Huțanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 13 minutes into the match, FC BUCURESTI's goal looked a bit too open when Călin Buricea came free, but Mircea Ispir reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Gigi Huțanu fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC BUCURESTI's protests and gave Gigi Huțanu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 25th minute Călin Buricea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mircea Ispir saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Horea Bleoancă managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rapid București 1923's supporters rose to their feet, but Horea Bleoancă was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 42nd minute, Horea Bleoancă got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Rapid București 1923's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
