After 10 played minutes, Brusturoasa's Marin Mălăele shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Claudiu Mirciulescu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Brusturoasa reached it. If Narcis Ciompec had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. George Brânza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Augustin Mailat struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Claudiu Mirciulescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brusturoasa. In the 18th minute, Brusturoasa's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Avram Colceriu fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Claudiu Mirciulescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augustin Mailat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 32 minutes, Avram Colceriu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FCU 1948 CRAIOVA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Avram Colceriu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Avram Colceriu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albert Chesaru having to interfere. George Brânza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudiu Mirciulescu having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Augustin Mailat to strike the kick off in the second half. Leontin Todoran kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. After 81 minutes, Nechifor Dănciulescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Brusturoasa and the FCU 1948 CRAIOVA players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 80 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Brusturoasa! FCU 1948 CRAIOVA's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
