Mircea Udroiu came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Academia Sighet's Adrian Braru. But to his dismay, Adrian Braru quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Grigore Năsturel was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 37th minute. GSBC Cluj-Napoca's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Costică Gaiță's late challenge caught a GSBC Cluj-Napoca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Costică Gaiță helped the player get up and apologised.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adrian Braru stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, GSBC Cluj-Napoca's Mircea Udroiu got control of the ball when Adrian Braru tried to sneak it across the goal line. GSBC Cluj-Napoca's Grigore Năsturel got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Adrian Braru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute, Grigore Năsturel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Codrin Drâmba was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-2. After a defensive mix-up in GSBC Cluj-Napoca's zone, Adrian Braru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mircea Udroiu came out of the goal and Adrian Braru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of GSBC Cluj-Napoca booed when Academia Sighet was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dragoş Timofte didn't get a good kick on the ball. GSBC Cluj-Napoca's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
