Mihai Frumuzache came out of the goal and Valeriu Povară tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mihai Frumuzache showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valeriu Povară in the 9th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the match, Tekerghiol's goal looked a bit too open when Valeriu Povară came free, but Mihai Frumuzache reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute, Sterpoaia CS's Valeriu Povară ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mihai Frumuzache. Mihai Frumuzache yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Mihai Frumuzache made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valeriu Povară in the 19th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ciprian Baniu during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Valeriu Bodea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihai Frumuzache having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Valeriu Povară reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mihai Frumuzache. The goal made the score 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valeriu Povară in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mihai Frumuzache saved Tekerghiol from getting behind. Mihai Frumuzache took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valeriu Povară, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute, Valeriu Povară fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Mihai Frumuzache, passed just outside the right post. Dragoş Chirtoacă charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dragoş Chirtoacă the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 42 played minutes Tekerghiol got a freekick which was hit by Dragoş Chirtoacă. Tekerghiol's Mihai Frumuzache played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valeriu Povară in the 45th minute of play.

52 minutes into the game, Ivan Buzescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tekerghiol's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sterpoaia CS the free kick. In the 53rd minute of the match Sandu Arvinte shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mihai Frumuzache showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Valeriu Povară came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Sterpoaia CS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valeriu Povară couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Valeriu Povară's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mihai Frumuzache was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. 70 minutes into the game, Valeriu Bodea cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Mihai Frumuzache was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Frederick Kallquist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iulian Hidiș in the 75th minute. In the 77thth minute of the game Valeriu Bodea who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tekerghiol's Mihai Frumuzache was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valeriu Povară in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mihai Frumuzache saved Tekerghiol from getting behind. In the 95th minute Valeriu Povară shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihai Frumuzache saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
