With a little luck, JUNIOR 2012's Calistrat Hurmuzescu got control of the ball when Edgar Arghir tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 27th match minute, JUNIOR 2012 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dan Pintilie to maneuver through the defense. Valter Zenga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Radu Olăroiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. JUNIOR 2012's Calistrat Hurmuzescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gică Şerbănescu in the 47th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gică Şerbănescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Calistrat Hurmuzescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gică Şerbănescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. After some careless play in the JUNIOR 2012 defense, Edgar Arghir kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Calistrat Hurmuzescu. The JUNIOR 2012 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Calistrat Hurmuzescu should have stopped the shot. Calistrat Hurmuzescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gică Şerbănescu in the 73rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in JUNIOR 2012's zone, David Mumuleanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Calistrat Hurmuzescu came out of the goal and David Mumuleanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gică Şerbănescu in the 80th minute of play forced JUNIOR 2012's goalkeeper Calistrat Hurmuzescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to JUNIOR 2012 getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Virgil Oprescu hit a great ball. Gică Şerbănescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Calistrat Hurmuzescu having to interfere. JUNIOR 2012's Calistrat Hurmuzescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gică Şerbănescu in the 90th minute of play. After some careless play in the JUNIOR 2012 defense, Edgar Arghir kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Calistrat Hurmuzescu. The JUNIOR 2012 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Calistrat Hurmuzescu should have stopped the shot. If Edgar Arghir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
