Mugur Basarab acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 42nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Dorin Doroftei. Dorel Dridu hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute, one of Arsenal Giulesti:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Arsenal Giulesti. The referee gave Fc Forex a penalty, 50 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Leontin Neacșu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Arsenal Giulesti's Augustin Pantilimon. 3-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ionel Alupoaie to make the kick off. In the 69th match minute, Arsenal Giulesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ilie Stelea to maneuver through the defense. 73 minutes into the match, Fc Forex's goal looked a bit too open when Teodor Pavelescu came free, but Mugur Basarab reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Arsenal Giulesti fans' excitement grew in the 79th match minute when Arsenal Giulesti's Teodor Pavelescu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Mugur Basarab came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Arsenal Giulesti's Teodor Pavelescu. But to his dismay, Teodor Pavelescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Mugur Basarab stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Teodor Pavelescu's shot from short distance in the 100th minute. Mugur Basarab made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iurie Miclescu in the 101st minute of play. There was no doubt that Arsenal Giulesti were the better team. Arsenal Giulesti's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
