Cosmin Ilarie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilian Tincu, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Petre Bobocea charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Petre Bobocea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 6th minute, Petre Bobocea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vermis's Panait Văcărescu got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 12th minute Emilian Tincu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cosmin Ilarie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Vermis's Panait Văcărescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cezar Eftimiu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 18th minute Emilian Tincu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cosmin Ilarie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cosmin Ilarie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilian Tincu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 25 played minutes Bicau got a freekick which was hit by Aron Dănănae. Răzvan Cernea's late challenge caught a Vermis's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Răzvan Cernea helped the player get up and apologised. Cosmin Ilarie was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Emilian Tincu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 30 minute of play. Cosmin Ilarie came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Bicau's Viorel Mascovescu. But to his dismay, Viorel Mascovescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Vermis's Cosmin Ilarie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emilian Tincu in the 38th minute of play. If Ion Aldulea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Răzvan Cernea scored 3-0 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cosmin Ilarie, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Ion Aldulea came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Vermis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ion Aldulea couldn't finish the play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Marin Ştefănică's late challenge caught a Bicau's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marin Ştefănică helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Bicau booed when Vermis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marin Ştefănică didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Panait Văcărescu fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vermis's protests and gave Panait Văcărescu a yellow card for diving instead. Panait Văcărescu kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Aron Dănănae hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 65 minutes into the match, Vermis's goal looked a bit too open when Emilian Tincu came free, but Cosmin Ilarie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vermis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Panait Văcărescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marin Ştefănică shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. After a rather tough play, Bicau's Răzvan Cernea got a free kick in the 82nd minute. In the 84th minute, Răzvan Cernea made a precise shot to the right of Cosmin Ilarie. Vermis's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. During the 87th minute of the match Răzvan Cernea completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Răzvan Cernea a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Răzvan Cernea hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Emilian Tincu hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. In the 92nd match minute, Vermis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Panait Văcărescu to maneuver through the defense. Vermis's Ion Aldulea got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Bicau fans cheered their team off the field, for while Vermis had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
