Varsesti's Adam Suşu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Codrin Chioreanu in the 6th minute of play. With a little luck, EMF Academia's Dumitru Cîrțu got control of the ball when Sebastian Bîlbă tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Varsesti getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Narcis Bunescu hit a great ball. Dumitru Cîrțu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Răzvan Uncheşelu in the 16th minute of play. Codrin Chioreanu scored 0-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adam Suşu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 22nd minute Răzvan Uncheşelu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dumitru Cîrțu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Codrin Chioreanu in the 26th minute of play forced Varsesti's goalkeeper Adam Suşu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rdth minute of the game Mick Shilton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Varsesti's Adam Suşu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to EMF Academia getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Claudiu Gârbovan hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, EMF Academia's Codrin Chioreanu got a free kick in the 36th minute. Cristi Lăcătușu lost his temper 46 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sebastian Bîlbă to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Codrin Chioreanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. EMF Academia's supporters rose to their feet, but Codrin Chioreanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adam Suşu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 58th play minute Codrin Chioreanu came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Adam Suşu. 0-3. In the 61st minute Mick Shilton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adam Suşu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sebastian Bîlbă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Dumitru Cîrțu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dumitru Cîrțu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sebastian Bîlbă went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. 76 minutes into the match, Mick Shilton dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Adam Suşu, 1-4. Mick Shilton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Adam Suşu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 1-5 became the score in the 82nd minute when Mick Shilton elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 85th minute, Codrin Chioreanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Basarab Uzuneanu came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Varsesti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basarab Uzuneanu couldn't finish the play. Flavius Gheorghe hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. A collision led to Varsesti getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Anton Nițulescu hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mick Shilton in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adam Suşu saved Varsesti from getting behind. In the 97th minute, Codrin Chioreanu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adam Suşu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-6.
