After 4 played minutes Varsesti got a freekick which was hit by Nichifor Achifoaiei. Marin Ştefănică struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Adam Suşu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vermis. Panait Văcărescu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 7thth minute tested the skills of Adam Suşu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Ion Aldulea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vermis's Cosmin Ilarie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Șerban Marian in the 13th minute of play. When Panait Văcărescu came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Vermis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Panait Văcărescu couldn't finish the play. Cosmin Ilarie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Bîlbă in the 21st minute of play. A collision led to Vermis getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Panait Văcărescu hit a great ball. In the 30th minute, Marin Ştefănică hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Vermis's Ştefan Grigore got a free kick in the 31st minute. After some careless play in the Vermis defense, Șerban Marian kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cosmin Ilarie. The Vermis fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cosmin Ilarie should have stopped the shot. In the 38th minute, Sebastian Bîlbă made a precise shot to the right of Cosmin Ilarie. Vermis's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Cosmin Ilarie didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Răzvan Uncheşelu went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. After the first half Varsesti were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Sebastian Bîlbă could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Cosmin Ilarie made a huge save. In the 54th minute Panait Văcărescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adam Suşu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 55 played minutes Vermis got a freekick which was hit by Marin Ştefănică. 59 minutes into the game, Sebastian Bîlbă cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Cosmin Ilarie was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Adam Suşu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Panait Văcărescu in the 62nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anton Nițulescu in the 63rd minute of play forced Vermis's goalkeeper Cosmin Ilarie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Panait Văcărescu came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Vermis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Panait Văcărescu couldn't finish the play. 66 minutes into the game, Sebastian Bîlbă recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cosmin Ilarie. Sebastian Bîlbă showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. Adam Suşu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Panait Văcărescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd minute Anton Nițulescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cosmin Ilarie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adam Suşu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Panait Văcărescu in the 74th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anton Nițulescu during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Anton Nițulescu took a quick shot and it went in 0-8 without a chance for Cosmin Ilarie to make any attempt to save it. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Varsesti eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
