Seating: 1600, VIP seats: 153) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Manole Dumitrache got the match started through his kick off. Iurie Moșneanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiberiu Lepuș in the 3rd minute of play. Octavian Amânaloae lost his temper 6 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 5 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Braseu! 12 minutes into the match, Saulita's goal looked a bit too open when Tiberiu Lepuș came free, but Iurie Moșneanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tiberiu Lepuș received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Iurie Moșneanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Flavius Ciociu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Braseu's Horea Socoriceanu got control of the ball when Emilian Hagi tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Radu Alucai got free with Horea Socoriceanu in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tudor Cutieru during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tudor Cutieru hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. When Flavius Ciociu came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Braseu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flavius Ciociu couldn't finish the play. 26 minutes into the match, Pavel Purcaru notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Saulita's Iurie Moșneanu. Iurie Moșneanu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Flavius Ciociu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Iurie Moșneanu having to make a save. Horea Socoriceanu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Emilian Hagi showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 36 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Saulita's zone, Aristide Poplăcan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iurie Moșneanu came out of the goal and Aristide Poplăcan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emilian Hagi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Saulita booed when Braseu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rareș Bădilescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Horea Socoriceanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilian Hagi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 55th match minute, Saulita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorel Puișoru to maneuver through the defense. Braseu's Manole Dumitrache spiked a well placed long shot which went just inside the left pole, with no chance at all for Iurie Moșneanu. Resulting in a 1-2 score after 56 minutes. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tiberiu Lepuș in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iurie Moșneanu saved Saulita from getting behind. Iurie Moșneanu didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 62nd minute, which inside left pole to 1-3. After a rather tough play, Braseu's Pavel Purcaru got a free kick in the 64th minute. Tiberiu Lepuș fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iurie Moșneanu having to interfere. After 67 played minutes Saulita got a freekick which was hit by Laurențiu Iacobeanu. Tiberiu Lepuș recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Răzvan Vasilică charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Răzvan Vasilică the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 72 played minutes Saulita got a freekick which was hit by Răzvan Vasilică. In the 74th minute, Tiberiu Lepuș fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Tiberiu Lepuș sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Horea Socoriceanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilian Hagi in the 80th minute of play. Horea Socoriceanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Radu Alucai, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiberiu Lepuș in the 84th minute of play forced Saulita's goalkeeper Iurie Moșneanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 86 minutes into the match, Vasile Calini notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Saulita's Iurie Moșneanu. Iurie Moșneanu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tiberiu Lepuș in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iurie Moșneanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
