Iurie Moșneanu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Silviu Zamfir in the 20th minute. Cristi Orădan kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. The supporters of BORUSSIA BVB DORTMUND booed when Saulita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Răzvan Vasilică didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dragoş Cretan made in the 25th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Marcu Moisescu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moise Păvăloae in the 40th minute of play forced Saulita's goalkeeper Iurie Moșneanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 47 played minutes Saulita got a freekick which was hit by Iulian Pușcașu. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Emilian Hagi made the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, BORUSSIA BVB DORTMUND's goal looked a bit too open when Emilian Hagi came free, but Moise Coporan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Saulita fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iurie Moșneanu should have stopped the shot. Liviu Buceceanu kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, BORUSSIA BVB DORTMUND's Cristi Orădan got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 82nd minute, Emilian Burca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 87 played minutes Saulita got a freekick which was hit by Emilian Hagi. 90 minutes into the match, BORUSSIA BVB DORTMUND's goalkeeper Moise Coporan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emilian Hagi.
