Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Vali Sfetcu started the match with the kick off. Zagavia's Dan Stănciulescu got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vali Sfetcu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian Caranfil in the 8th minute of play forced Cotormany's goalkeeper Iurie Burghelea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damian Caranfil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iurie Burghelea having to interfere. After 17 played minutes Zagavia got a freekick which was hit by Dan Stănciulescu. After 21 minutes, Radu Torouţ made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Cotormany's Iurie Burghelea tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 25th minute Radu Torouţ shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iurie Burghelea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iurie Burghelea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petruț Elian, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Cotormany's Iurie Burghelea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damian Caranfil in the 29th minute of play. Nistor Nedelea's late challenge caught a Cotormany's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nistor Nedelea helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 31st minute of the game. One of Zagavia:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cotormany:s goal. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cotormany's goalkeeper Iurie Burghelea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 39th minute Damian Caranfil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iurie Burghelea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Radu Torouţ might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iurie Burghelea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Radu Torouţ ran back to his position shaking his head. Iurie Burghelea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damian Caranfil, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Nae Rădvan's late challenge caught a Zagavia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nae Rădvan helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Cotormany getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Nae Rădvan hit a great ball. Denis Trif took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 53rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Iurie Burghelea. Cotormany's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Radu Torouţ struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Iurie Burghelea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zagavia. Martin Robescu kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Iurie Burghelea was out of position in the 65 minute of play, and Damian Caranfil capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Damian Caranfil really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Vali Sfetcu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maxim Giurăscu having to interfere. Maxim Giurăscu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costin Măgură in the 86th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Zagavia's goal looked a bit too open when Vali Sfetcu came free, but Maxim Giurăscu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Damian Caranfil recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zagavia's Maxim Giurăscu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Costin Măgură in the 96th minute of play.
