Seating: 1600, VIP seats: 153) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Vali Sfetcu got the match started through his kick off. Laurențiu Iacobeanu might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iurie Burghelea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Laurențiu Iacobeanu ran back to his position shaking his head. Iurie Moșneanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vali Sfetcu in the 8th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emilian Hagi in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iurie Burghelea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 15th minute, Costin Măgură left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cotormany fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Iurie Moșneanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vali Sfetcu in the 19th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Nae Rădvan made a precise shot to the right of Iurie Moșneanu. Saulita's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After 25 minutes of play, Cotormany's Vali Sfetcu made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Iurie Moșneanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Radu Alucai came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Saulita fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Radu Alucai couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Cotormany getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Valeriu Brănet hit a great ball. Vali Cotoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Saulita's Laurențiu Iacobeanu got a free kick in the 35th minute. An unexpected shot in the 42nd minute by Radu Alucai got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Vali Cotoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iurie Burghelea having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emilian Hagi to strike the kick off in the second half. Vali Cotoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 54th minute of the match Dorel Puișoru shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Iurie Burghelea showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Iurie Burghelea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laurențiu Iacobeanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Cotormany's zone, Emilian Hagi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iurie Burghelea came out of the goal and Emilian Hagi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Laurențiu Iacobeanu hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. If Nae Rădvan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 63 minutes into the game, Nae Rădvan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cotormany's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Saulita the free kick. Nae Rădvan hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After 67 minutes of play Saulita's Laurențiu Iacobeanu was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Saulita's Laurențiu Iacobeanu got a free kick in the 68th minute. If Vali Cotoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emilian Hagi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Iurie Burghelea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Costin Măgură hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Radu Alucai took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Iurie Burghelea. Iurie Burghelea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. When Sabin Hizo fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cotormany's protests and gave Sabin Hizo a yellow card for diving instead. Vali Cotoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Emilian Hagi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saulita's supporters rose to their feet, but Emilian Hagi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iurie Burghelea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Saulita getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Emilian Hagi hit a great ball. The Saulita manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Cotormany to win.
