After some careless play in the FC Ferrari defense, Grigore Sfetcu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alin Mărăscu. The FC Ferrari fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alin Mărăscu should have stopped the shot. FC Ferrari's Alin Mărăscu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Grigore Sfetcu in the 8th minute of play. Augustin Chindriș sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Sebastian Vâlcu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Augustin Chindriș sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emil Stănciulaş during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Emil Stănciulaş hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute of the match Constantin Manta sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dan Ciuhandu skillfully saved the ball. Nicu Stănilă kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 24th minute Panait Alamaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alin Mărăscu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 27th minute, Grigore Sfetcu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 28 played minutes FC Ferrari got a freekick which was hit by Tudor Stănciulaş. Alin Mărăscu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grigore Sfetcu in the 33rd minute of the match. When Grigore Sfetcu came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Universitatea Cluj fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Grigore Sfetcu couldn't finish the play. FC Ferrari's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Grigore Sfetcu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 46 minutes into the match, FC Ferrari's goal looked a bit too open when Adrian Barascu came free, but Alin Mărăscu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Augustin Chindriș to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Grigore Sfetcu got free with Alin Mărăscu in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alin Mărăscu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrian Barascu in the 55th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Universitatea Cluj's Emil Stănciulaş got a free kick in the 61st minute. When Grigore Sfetcu came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Universitatea Cluj fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Grigore Sfetcu couldn't finish the play. Grigore Sfetcu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Alin Mărăscu made a huge save. 73 minutes into the match, FC Ferrari's goal looked a bit too open when Grigore Sfetcu came free, but Alin Mărăscu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alin Mărăscu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Panait Alamaru, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. If Adrian Barascu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. In the 78thth minute of the game Grigore Sfetcu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Ferrari's Alin Mărăscu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Universitatea Cluj's Panait Alamaru slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alin Mărăscu. That made the score 0-3 after 79 minutes of play. After a defensive mix-up in FC Ferrari's zone, Grigore Sfetcu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alin Mărăscu came out of the goal and Grigore Sfetcu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Augustin Chindriș kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Grigore Sfetcu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alin Mărăscu having to interfere. Universitatea Cluj's Adrian Barascu got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adrian Barascu in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alin Mărăscu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Universitatea Cluj's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
