Deville's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vlad Madgearu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Felix Angheluță showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduard Ecobescu in the 10th minute of the match. After 11 played minutes Oltul Slatina got a freekick which was hit by Laurențiu Bălașa. After 14 minutes, Valeriu Curcă mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Oltul Slatina and the Deville players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Deville booed when Oltul Slatina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valeriu Curcă didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felix Angheluță acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 15th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Emanuel Coșeriu. Valeriu Curcă was shown his second yellow card after 17 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 18th match minute, Oltul Slatina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valeriu Curcă to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th minute, Eduard Ecobescu fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Vlad Madgearu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oltul Slatina's supporters rose to their feet, but Vlad Madgearu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eliodor Curcă breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eliodor Curcă didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vlad Madgearu went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After 28 played minutes Oltul Slatina got a freekick which was hit by Vlad Madgearu. If Vlad Madgearu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Deville booed when Oltul Slatina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vali Dragotescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felix Angheluță made an important save on a dangerous shot by Florin Ababei in the 36th minute. Oltul Slatina's Vlad Madgearu got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 44th minute, Florin Ababei left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deville fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Florin Ababei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eduard Ecobescu to make the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Vali Dragotescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oltul Slatina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vali Dragotescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eliodor Curcă made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vlad Madgearu in the 53rd minute. 56 minutes into the match, Eduard Ecobescu notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Oltul Slatina's Felix Angheluță. Felix Angheluță was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vlad Madgearu struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Eliodor Curcă didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oltul Slatina. Florin Ababei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Felix Angheluță tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Felix Angheluță took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florin Ababei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 90 minutes into the game, Oltul Slatina's Vlad Madgearu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eliodor Curcă made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. 95 minutes into the match, Oltul Slatina's goal looked a bit too open when Eduard Ecobescu came free, but Felix Angheluță reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Deville supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Oltul Slatina's performance. The match ended with a win for Oltul Slatina.
