Deville's Eliodor Curcă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Irinel Zoreanu in the 13th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Deville's goal looked a bit too open when Irinel Zoreanu came free, but Eliodor Curcă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Florin Ababei's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ovidiu Bourceanu was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. The long shot by Marian Tadici in the 26th minute really tested Eliodor Curcă's skills. It was beautiful to see Deville's Emanuel Coșeriu in action when he in the 28th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! In the 35th minute Manole Lupescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidiu Bourceanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute Irinel Zoreanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliodor Curcă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Deville's Florin Ababei got a free kick in the 44th minute. Eliodor Curcă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Irinel Zoreanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eduard Ecobescu to make the kick off. After 52 played minutes Botesti got a freekick which was hit by Iulian Cordescu. Lucrețiu Popic's late challenge caught a Botesti's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lucrețiu Popic helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Deville getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Lucrețiu Popic hit a great ball. If Eduard Ecobescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 65 played minutes Botesti got a freekick which was hit by Francisc Alexandrescu. Eduard Ecobescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ovidiu Bourceanu having to interfere. 80 minutes into the match, Botesti's goal looked a bit too open when Eduard Ecobescu came free, but Ovidiu Bourceanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eduard Ecobescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ovidiu Bourceanu having to interfere. Ovidiu Bourceanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduard Ecobescu in the 94th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Irinel Zoreanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Botesti's supporters rose to their feet, but Irinel Zoreanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eliodor Curcă breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Despite being the better team, Deville failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
