After 7 minutes Berbesul's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Augustin Pascu who took care of the corner kick. Ernest Budianu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliodor Lăceanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. If Petruț Liviu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Berbesul's Petruț Liviu got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 31st minute, Augustin Gheorghiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 32 minutes into the game, Viorel Calomfir threw the ball into play from the sideline. Berbesul's Petruț Liviu quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After 33 played minutes Fc Braila got a freekick which was hit by Augustin Pascu. 38 minutes into the game, Lucian Logofătu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Ernest Budianu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 44 minutes into the match, Berbesul's goalkeeper Ernest Budianu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lucian Logofătu. With a little luck, Berbesul's Ernest Budianu got control of the ball when Lucian Logofătu tried to sneak it across the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lucian Logofătu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ernest Budianu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucian Logofătu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 53 minutes, Petruț Liviu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Berbesul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Petruț Liviu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Lucian Logofătu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ernest Budianu was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Ernest Budianu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lucian Logofătu went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Fc Braila's Lucian Logofătu got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ernest Budianu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lucian Logofătu's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Janusz Ikalewicz charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Janusz Ikalewicz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 71st minute, Janusz Ikalewicz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Paul Răuţă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 83 minutes into the game, Fc Braila's Lucian Logofătu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ernest Budianu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. 86 minutes into the match, Ciprian Galiceanu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ernest Budianu. Berbesul's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ciprian Galiceanu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. 90 minutes into the match, Fc Braila's Lucian Logofătu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ernest Budianu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 92nd minute Fc Braila were awarded a corner. Augustin Pascu went to the cornerflag to take it. Berbesul's Ernest Budianu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucian Logofătu in the 94th minute of play. Ernest Budianu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliodor Lăceanu in the 96th minute of the match. Ernest Budianu came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Fc Braila's Eliodor Lăceanu. But to his dismay, Eliodor Lăceanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1.
