Marcel Frunză showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lars Schuster, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Marcel Frunză came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Fc Otelul Galati's Lars Schuster. But to his dismay, Lars Schuster quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Schuster in the 14th minute of play forced GLADIATORII's goalkeeper Marcel Frunză to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gigi Râznicu kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, Florian Penc notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of GLADIATORII's Marcel Frunză. Marcel Frunză was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 19 minutes into the game, Fc Otelul Galati's Florian Penc nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcel Frunză made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-8 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 51st minute Florian Penc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcel Frunză saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alin Teodorescu in the 55th minute of play forced GLADIATORII's goalkeeper Marcel Frunză to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Viorel Irod had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. But to his dismay, Lars Schuster quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-10. GLADIATORII's Marcel Frunză proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save GLADIATORII from getting a goal against them. Alin Teodorescu kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Marcel Frunză was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Florian Penc showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-11 in the 75 minute of play. Florian Penc took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcel Frunză. Marcel Frunză dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-12. Basarab Chelbea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Marcel Frunză made a huge save. GLADIATORII's defense didn't have a chance, in the 84th minute, when Florian Penc scored to the left of an out of position Marcel Frunză, making the score, 0-13. Marcel Frunză made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florian Penc in the 88th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, GLADIATORII's goal looked a bit too open when Alin Teodorescu came free, but Marcel Frunză reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute Gorla Goretzka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcel Frunză saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andrei Măgură's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Marcel Frunză firmly grabbed it by the left post. When the match was over Fc Otelul Galati could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than GLADIATORII throughout the match.
