The referee gave Aron Daria a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of YR☆ Rossoneri™ booed when Varbilau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aron Daria didn't get a good kick on the ball. Toader Hojbota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mihăiţă Voina, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Marian Drogoreanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Mihăiţă Voina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the YR☆ Rossoneri™ defense, Călin Lucrețiu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iordache Minea. The YR☆ Rossoneri™ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iordache Minea should have stopped the shot. Marian Drogoreanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Toader Hojbota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dinu Bungescu in the 33rd minute of the match. Ovidiu Doloman's late challenge caught a YR☆ Rossoneri™'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ovidiu Doloman helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Varbilau fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 41st minute. Penalty! Toader Hojbota went to the wrong direction when Teodor Radovan was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. When Mihăiţă Voina came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the YR☆ Rossoneri™ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mihăiţă Voina couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marian Drogoreanu made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marian Drogoreanu in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Toader Hojbota prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Călin Lucrețiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eric Marica's late challenge caught a Varbilau's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eric Marica helped the player get up and apologised. In the 71st minute Mihăiţă Voina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toader Hojbota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. YR☆ Rossoneri™'s Dinu Bungescu got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mihăiţă Voina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Toader Hojbota tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 87 minutes into the game, Romeo Noica was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Varbilau's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave YR☆ Rossoneri™ the free kick. A collision led to Varbilau getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Romeo Noica hit a great ball. Marian Drogoreanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Călin Lucrețiu did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-2 to the left of a surprised Iordache Minea 94 minutes into the match. When the final whistle went the supporters of Varbilau were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant YR☆ Rossoneri™ side.
