Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Vargyas's Ionică Zgabei started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Radu Ghițulescu during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Manole Romoşan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cazimir Diaconescu having to interfere. If Radu Ghițulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 18 played minutes Albotesti got a freekick which was hit by Ernest Gurlui. The crowd rose to their feet as Moise Ştoia kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marian Curuțiu. That made the score 1-0 in the 25 minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Albotesti's goal looked a bit too open when Ionică Zgabei came free, but Marian Curuțiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cazimir Diaconescu didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Albotesti's Panait Pintea shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Cazimir Diaconescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manole Romoşan's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. In the 40th minute Panait Pintea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cazimir Diaconescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute, Silviu Nicolau hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Manole Romoşan made a kick off. In the 54th minute Manole Romoşan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cazimir Diaconescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, Vargyas's goal looked a bit too open when Manole Romoşan came free, but Cazimir Diaconescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Albotesti's Cazimir Diaconescu threw himself towards the right post 68 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Manole Romoşan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Vargyas's defense didn't have a chance, in the 83rd minute, when Panait Pintea scored to the left of an out of position Cazimir Diaconescu, making the score, 1-3. Ionică Zgabei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manole Romoşans short, quick shot in the 89thth minute got Cazimir Diaconescu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 91 minutes, Panait Pintea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Albotesti and the Vargyas players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Vargyas's Radu Ghițulescu in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Albotesti's goalie prevented a goal. The Albotesti supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Albotesti would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
