The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Irinel Cângea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manole Romoşan in the 5th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Albotesti's goal looked a bit too open when Ovidiu Popete came free, but Marian Curuțiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Albotesti getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Dacian Nicolcioiu hit a great ball. Valer Câmpeanu might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marian Curuțiu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valer Câmpeanu ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Valer Câmpeanu during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Valer Câmpeanu hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. If Panait Pintea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, FCC ICIM Arad's goalkeeper Irinel Cângea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Panait Pintea. When Albotesti's Manole Romoşan in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After a rather tough play, Albotesti's Manole Romoşan got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 40th minute of the match, Manole Romoşan tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Irinel Cângea saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Corneliu Astafei's late challenge caught a Albotesti's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Corneliu Astafei helped the player get up and apologised. Corneliu Astafei hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manole Romoşan in the 46th minute of play forced FCC ICIM Arad's goalkeeper Irinel Cângea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Irinel Cângea managed to avoid a goal in the 47thth minute, when Albotesti's Panait Pintea fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Manole Romoşan to strike the kick off in the second half. FCC ICIM Arad's Irinel Cângea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manole Romoşan in the 54th minute of play. In the 55th minute Manole Romoşan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Irinel Cângea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 56thth minute of the game Panait Pintea who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FCC ICIM Arad's Irinel Cângea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 60 minutes into the game, Albotesti's Panait Pintea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Irinel Cângea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. 64 minutes into the match, FCC ICIM Arad's goal looked a bit too open when Manole Romoşan came free, but Irinel Cângea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute, Manole Romoşan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Albotesti fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Panait Pintea charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Panait Pintea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FCC ICIM Arad booed when Albotesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Panait Pintea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valer Câmpeanu kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Albotesti's Panait Pintea got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Irinel Cângea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manole Romoşan, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Irinel Cângea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manole Romoşan in the 82nd minute of play. Irinel Cângea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Panait Pintea in the 85th minute of the match. In the 87th minute, FCC ICIM Arad's Corneliu Astafei ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marian Curuțiu. Marian Curuțiu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-1. After 92 played minutes Albotesti got a freekick which was hit by Panait Pintea. When the referee ended the match the Albotesti players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
