Vargyas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Golo Phoenix was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 10th minute Golo Phoenix shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cazimir Diaconescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Moise Ştoia during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Felix Mihăilescu scored 0-2 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cazimir Diaconescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ionică Zgabei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dacian Ghițescu having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Strong Phoenix in the 23rd minute of play forced Vargyas's goalkeeper Cazimir Diaconescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Felix Mihăilescu to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Felix Mihăilescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 68th minute Ionică Zgabei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dacian Ghițescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dacian Ghițescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Radu Ghițulescu in the 71st minute of the match. If Radu Ghițulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th match minute, Vargyas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marin Ifrim to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Vargyas's zone, Lucian Şimonca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cazimir Diaconescu came out of the goal and Lucian Şimonca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cazimir Diaconescu made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Felix Mihăilescu sent off a good shot on target. Cristinel Uncheşelu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 84 minutes into the match, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goal looked a bit too open when Marin Ifrim came free, but Dacian Ghițescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mircea Jupân took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cazimir Diaconescu. Cazimir Diaconescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Cazimir Diaconescu made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Mircea Jupân sent off a good shot on target. Mircea Jupân charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mircea Jupân the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ionică Zgabei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Dacian Ghițescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
