Șerban Cioacă could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Boruc Pawlak made a huge save. RTP 2021's Boruc Pawlak proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save RTP 2021 from getting a goal against them. Albert Bourceanu kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Horaţiu Neculuță recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 11th minute, Ivan Oniga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 13 played minutes RTP 2021 got a freekick which was hit by Albert Bourceanu. In the 15th minute, Mircea Gârdescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mihail Băsescu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Boruc Pawlak having to make a save. Boruc Pawlak was out of position in the 22 minute of play, and Mihail Dăianu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mihail Dăianu really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. The supporters of RTP 2021 booed when Gimbas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cosmin Alexiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gimbas's Mugur Logofeteanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albert Bourceanu in the 26th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Dan Dragnea left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The RTP 2021 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The supporters of Gimbas booed when RTP 2021 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albert Bourceanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, RTP 2021's Dan Dragnea got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Cosmin Alexiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gimbas's supporters rose to their feet, but Cosmin Alexiu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boruc Pawlak breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 44 played minutes, RTP 2021's Mircea Gârdescu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mugur Logofeteanu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in RTP 2021 reached it. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Șerban Cioacă was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusebiu Spânu in the 52nd minute of play forced Gimbas's goalkeeper Mugur Logofeteanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horaţiu Neculuță kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dan Dragnea got free with Mugur Logofeteanu in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 60 minutes into the game, Anton Cocea recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mugur Logofeteanu. Anton Cocea showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Albert Bourceanu came free with the goalkeeper in the 70th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Mugur Logofeteanu could save by the left post. Șerban Cioacă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mugur Logofeteanu made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Albert Bourceanu sent off a good shot on target. Eusebiu Spânu hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. RTP 2021's Boruc Pawlak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Șerban Cioacă in the 83rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Gimbas's Sorin Zdrobiş got a free kick in the 84th minute. 87 minutes into the match, Gimbas's goalkeeper Mugur Logofeteanu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dan Dragnea. 88 minutes into the match, Gimbas's goal looked a bit too open when Anton Cocea came free, but Mugur Logofeteanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Mihail Dăianu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mugur Logofeteanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anton Cocea, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Șerban Cioacă in the 96th minute of play forced RTP 2021's goalkeeper Boruc Pawlak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Gimbas supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching RTP 2021's performance. The match ended with a win for RTP 2021.
