Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Anton Afloarei made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 7th minute, Liviu Lucaci fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 14th minute, ASU Politehnica Timisoara's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Liviu Lucaci fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Irinel Cârnu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicodim Grămescu having to interfere. Irinel Cârnu might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nicodim Grămescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Irinel Cârnu ran back to his position shaking his head. Mihăiţă Brezeanu hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. After 25 minutes of play, Herla's Liviu Lucaci made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nicodim Grămescu was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 32nd minute, Adam Isaia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nicodim Grămescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Liviu Lucaci, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, ASU Politehnica Timisoara's Ionuț Mihădaș got a free kick in the 36th minute. After having played for 41 minutes, Liviu Lucaci managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Herla's supporters crossed their fingers, but Liviu Lucaci was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Calistrat Bordeanu scored 3-0 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nicodim Grămescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Liviu Lucaci was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, ASU Politehnica Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Irinel Cârnu came free, but Nicodim Grămescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Liviu Lucaci came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Herla fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Liviu Lucaci couldn't finish the play. Liviu Lucaci struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Nicodim Grămescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Herla. If Iulian Coroian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Liviu Lucaci fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicodim Grămescu having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Liviu Lucaci managed to get in a good position for a shot. Herla's supporters rose to their feet, but Liviu Lucaci was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicodim Grămescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Irinel Cârnu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Nicodim Grămescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mihăiţă Brezeanu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nicodim Grămescu having to make a save. Irinel Cârnu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicodim Grămescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Irinel Cârnu in the 89th minute of the match. David Hârtopanu charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed David Hârtopanu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, ASU Politehnica Timisoara's David Hârtopanu got a free kick in the 90th minute. Irinel Cârnu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Nicodim Grămescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Irinel Cârnu in the 94th minute of play forced ASU Politehnica Timisoara's goalkeeper Nicodim Grămescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Herla's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
