Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Romeo Chelaru kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes into the game, Eelco Nieuwburg recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ciprian Uncescu. Eelco Nieuwburg showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 8th play minute Gabriel Maniu came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Ciprian Uncescu. 2-0. Matei Stancu kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. In the 19th match minute, CLUB GALATI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabriel Florean to maneuver through the defense. 23 minutes into the match, MZ Rapid's goal looked a bit too open when Eelco Nieuwburg came free, but Ciprian Uncescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 26 minutes, Romeo Chelaru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MZ Rapid's supporters crossed their fingers, but Romeo Chelaru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eelco Nieuwburg in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ciprian Uncescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 32nd minute Petru Huștea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Simionescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ole-Einar Skåre could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Ciprian Uncescu made a huge save. Ciprian Uncescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nechifor Dordea, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 38th minute, Adrian Gugulanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nechifor Dordea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eelco Nieuwburg was the one to do the kick off. Paul Simionescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Petru Huștea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. MZ Rapid were awarded a corner in the 56th minute after CLUB GALATI's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Petru Huștea took the corner. Ciprian Uncescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eelco Nieuwburg's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eelco Nieuwburg in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ciprian Uncescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to MZ Rapid getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Adrian Gugulanu hit a great ball. The audience cheered when Eelco Nieuwburg's long shot passed Ciprian Uncescu's right side. It was 3-0, 66 minutes into the match. Ole-Einar Skåre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciprian Uncescu having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Eelco Nieuwburg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ciprian Uncescu was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. The supporters of MZ Rapid booed when CLUB GALATI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Prosper Harnikov didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 85 minutes, Eelco Nieuwburg made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. MZ Rapid's Ciprian Uncescu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Ciprian Uncescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ole-Einar Skåre in the 88th minute of the match. The supporters of MZ Rapid booed when CLUB GALATI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Florean didn't get a good kick on the ball.
