Andrei Chitimia was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Aurel Stătescu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 17 minute of play. After having played for 30 minutes, Aurel Stătescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dunărea Călăraşi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aurel Stătescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 46th minute, Edmílson Lago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Marian Mustăcilă made the kick off in the second half. When Marian Mustăcilă fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dunărea Călăraşi's protests and gave Marian Mustăcilă a yellow card for diving instead. Marian Mustăcilă hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. The long shot by Doido R. Hansen in the 52nd minute really tested Marius Radovan's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Sergiu Cepoi hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Gabriel Markusson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 59thth minute tested the skills of Marius Radovan when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Aurel Stătescu charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aurel Stătescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 60th match minute, Dunărea Călăraşi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aurel Stătescu to maneuver through the defense. 61 minutes into the match, Dunărea Călăraşi's goalkeeper Marius Radovan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ivar Gunnarsson. Andrei Chitimia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marian Mustăcilă, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Andrei Chitimia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marian Mustăcilă's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Aurel Stătescu took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Andrei Chitimia. Andrei Chitimia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Dunărea Călăraşi's Ştefan Petru was substituted for Marian Mustăcilă. Marius Radovan had great luck who in the 72ndth minute grab hold of the ball when Gabriel Markusson from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Dunărea Călăraşi's Maxim Cismaș was substituted for Aristide Vuia. Sergiu Cepoi, 90 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 91st minute Ştefan Petru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrei Chitimia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ştefan Petru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Andrei Chitimia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 94 played minutes NEW STYLE CLUJ NAPOCA got a freekick which was hit by Björn Häger. Ştefan Petru blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Andrei Chitimia having to make a save. There was no doubt that Dunărea Călăraşi were the better team. Dunărea Călăraşi's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
