After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Iustinian Negulici managed to get in a good position for a shot. BANAT VIOLA's supporters rose to their feet, but Iustinian Negulici was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Turlea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Liviu Hănescu hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, BANAT VIOLA's Nae Bleoancă got a free kick in the 10th minute. Emilio Miconi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodor Unchiaşu in the 22nd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Martin Chiru notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of BANAT VIOLA's Emilio Miconi. Emilio Miconi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Teodor Unchiaşu in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emilio Miconi saved BANAT VIOLA from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petru Furdui in the 37th minute of play forced BANAT VIOLA's goalkeeper Emilio Miconi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Zimnicea booed when BANAT VIOLA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iustinian Negulici didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 41st minute, Ioan Bucur made a precise shot to the right of Emilio Miconi. BANAT VIOLA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Liviu Hănescu to make the kick off. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by BANAT VIOLA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner.
