Olimpiu Cozmâncă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gheorghe Buta in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mihnea Ianculescu saved FC.Ripensia-Timisoara from getting behind. Emilian Ferenț made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Zbârlea in the 40th minute of play. Manuel Zbârlea struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Emilian Ferenț didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC.Ripensia-Timisoara. With a little luck, FC.Ripensia-Timisoara's Mihnea Ianculescu got control of the ball when Gheorghe Buta tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Gheorghe Buta could shoot a difficult shot in the 45th minute, which Mihnea Ianculescu however easily saved by the left post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
