In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Steaua Botosani - BTF's goalkeeper Marian Contra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marian Contra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean Diniz in the 9th minute of the match. Marian Contra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stig-Ove Odman, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. With a little luck, FC UMBRE's Johnny Maftei got control of the ball when Geronimo Jakobe tried to sneak it across the goal line. Johnny Maftei made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Geronimo Jakobe sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Steaua Botosani - BTF booed when FC UMBRE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean Diniz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeff Davila in the 20thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Johnny Maftei, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Stig-Ove Odman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marian Contra read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. After 39 minutes Steaua Botosani - BTF's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was 信 龙天义 who took care of the corner kick. 信 龙天义 made a great header on FC UMBRE's corner, it was just that Steaua Botosani - BTF's Marian Contra managed to reach the ball for a save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stig-Ove Odman to make the kick off. Steaua Botosani - BTF's Marian Contra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stig-Ove Odman in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd match minute, FC UMBRE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aron Golumbean to maneuver through the defense. Jean Diniz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Marian Contra made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stig-Ove Odman in the 57th minute of play forced Steaua Botosani - BTF's goalkeeper Marian Contra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. During this time FC UMBRE's players had a chance to rest. FC UMBRE's 信 龙天义 was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marian Contra in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Johnny Maftei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dodo Simatupang in the 75th minute of play. Marian Contra made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when 信 龙天义 sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Steaua Botosani - BTF defense, Jean Diniz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marian Contra. The Steaua Botosani - BTF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marian Contra should have stopped the shot. In the 86th minute Jean Diniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marian Contra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when 信 龙天义 got free with Marian Contra in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stig-Ove Odman in the 88th minute of play forced Steaua Botosani - BTF's goalkeeper Marian Contra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marian Contra came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by FC UMBRE's Jean Diniz. But to his dismay, Jean Diniz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
