The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute of the match Marin Maiorescu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mihnea Ianculescu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Mihnea Ianculescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean Diniz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC UMBRE's Johnny Maftei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olimpiu Cozmâncă in the 21st minute of play. Victor Bocu hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stig-Ove Odman in the 27th minute of play forced FC.Ripensia-Timisoara's goalkeeper Mihnea Ianculescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stig-Ove Odman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihnea Ianculescu having to interfere. Mihnea Ianculescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 46 minutes, Victor Târcă mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC.Ripensia-Timisoara and the FC UMBRE players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 46 played minutes FC.Ripensia-Timisoara got a freekick which was hit by Victor Târcă. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Stig-Ove Odman made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 54 minutes, Jean Diniz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC UMBRE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jean Diniz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mihnea Ianculescu made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Aron Golumbean sent off a good shot on target. Mihnea Ianculescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by 信 龙天义 in the 60th minute. With a little luck, FC.Ripensia-Timisoara's Mihnea Ianculescu got control of the ball when 信 龙天义 tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of FC.Ripensia-Timisoara booed when FC UMBRE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. 信 龙天义 didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dinu Herescu in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Johnny Maftei saved FC UMBRE from getting behind. Mihnea Ianculescu made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when 信 龙天义 sent off a good shot on target. After 75 minutes of play, FC UMBRE's Stig-Ove Odman made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mihnea Ianculescu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Johnny Maftei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olimpiu Cozmâncă, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Basarab Hobjilă's late challenge caught a FC UMBRE's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Basarab Hobjilă helped the player get up and apologised. In the 83rd minute, Basarab Hobjilă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 83rd minute, 信 龙天义 fired a really elegant long shot, but Mihnea Ianculescu threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. In the 88th minute, Jean Diniz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mihnea Ianculescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. 91 minutes into the game, 信 龙天义 was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC UMBRE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC.Ripensia-Timisoara the free kick. Johnny Maftei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olimpiu Cozmâncă in the 94th minute of the match. Mihnea Ianculescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean Diniz, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The FC.Ripensia-Timisoara supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FC UMBRE's performance. The match ended with a win for FC UMBRE.
