Spectators: 7992 (Terracing: 5995, Seating: 1838, VIP seats: 159) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Florin Urseanu started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Academy 01's Dacian Ciorbea got a free kick in the 5th minute. After 6 minutes of play, Fc Universitatea Cluj's Sever Tomulescu made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Filip Râznicu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sever Tomulescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Filip Râznicu made a huge save. In the 22nd minute, Denis Costescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ernest Inculeț was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Ernest Inculeț made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florin Urseanu in the 25th minute of play. Grigore Fărcașu kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Academy 01's goalkeeper Filip Râznicu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Filip Râznicu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sever Tomulescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Sever Tomulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sever Tomulescus short, quick shot in the 44thth minute got Filip Râznicu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After the first half Academy 01 were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Fc Universitatea Cluj made a substitution. Jürgen Tihkan replaced Saul Soputan. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sever Tomulescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sever Tomulescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Filip Râznicu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Florin Urseanu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ernest Inculeț was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. After 57 played minutes Academy 01 got a freekick which was hit by Florin Urseanu. Ernest Inculeț stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Florin Urseanu's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sever Tomulescu in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Filip Râznicu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Florin Urseanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Ernest Inculeț tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Fc Universitatea Cluj getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. David Pacuraru hit a great ball. In the 70thth minute of the game Florin Urseanu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fc Universitatea Cluj's Ernest Inculeț was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Fc Universitatea Cluj fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when Fc Universitatea Cluj's Sever Tomulescu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Academy 01's Grigore Fărcașu got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ernest Inculeț showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florin Urseanu in the 81st minute of the match. After 83 minutes, Mihail Pavalescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fc Universitatea Cluj and the Academy 01 players grew even worse after the yellow card. Florin Urseanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Ernest Inculeț made a huge save. Otsoa Manzardo struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Filip Râznicu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fc Universitatea Cluj. Ernest Inculeț made an important save on a dangerous shot by Florin Urseanu in the 96th minute. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
