Spectators: 8099 (Terracing: 6076, Seating: 1862, VIP seats: 161) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Edgar Onea kicked off to start the match. Sabin Schiau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Onea in the 7th minute of the match. Sabin Schiau stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edgar Onea's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. After 12 played minutes FC Cosaci got a freekick which was hit by Iulian Trăistaru. The supporters of POLI TIMISOARA booed when FC Cosaci was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iulian Trăistaru didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Iulian Trăistaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cezar Hoduț received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Dinu Săvoiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sabin Schiau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Onea in the 22nd minute of play. Sabin Schiau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgar Onea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cezar Hoduț's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dinu Săvoiu firmly grabbed it by the left post. 29 minutes into the match, FC Cosaci's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Onea came free, but Sabin Schiau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Cosaci's Iulian Trăistaru got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 30 minutes into the match, POLI TIMISOARA's goal looked a bit too open when Iulian Trăistaru came free, but Dinu Săvoiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, POLI TIMISOARA's Isac Turlea got a free kick in the 34th minute. Cornel Dragomiroiu charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cornel Dragomiroiu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 36th minute, Cornel Dragomiroiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Călin Hulubei managed to get in a good position for a shot. POLI TIMISOARA's supporters rose to their feet, but Călin Hulubei was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sabin Schiau breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Cosaci's goalkeeper Sabin Schiau, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, FC Cosaci's Cornel Dragomiroiu got a free kick in the 45th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cezar Hoduț made a kick off. With a little luck, FC Cosaci's Sabin Schiau got control of the ball when Horaţiu Blăniță tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zdzislaw Hajder recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edgar Onea got free with Sabin Schiau in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sabin Schiau made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Edgar Onea sent off a good shot on target. Edgar Onea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FC Cosaci's Cornel Dragomiroiu got his second yellow card of the match in the 69th minute. The referee ordered Cornel Dragomiroiu off the ground. The supporters of POLI TIMISOARA booed when FC Cosaci was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cornel Dragomiroiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 71 minutes into the match, FC Cosaci's goalkeeper Sabin Schiau had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgar Onea. Sabin Schiau stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edgar Onea's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. POLI TIMISOARA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Horaţiu Blăniță in the 76th minute. Dinu Săvoiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silviu Andrițoiu in the 82nd minute of the match. Dinu Săvoiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silviu Andrițoiu in the 84th minute of play. Edgar Onea in the 86thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sabin Schiau, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a rather tough play, POLI TIMISOARA's Bandit Bandell got a free kick in the 90th minute. In the 92nd minute, one of FC Cosaci:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Cosaci. Sabin Schiau made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edgar Onea in the 96th minute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
