The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gheorghe Şelaru during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 5 minutes into the match, Virgil Mincu notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Otelul Darmanesti's Nae Pavel. Nae Pavel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Manole Tăcutu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vladimir Lenin in the 11th minute of play. 12 minutes had been played when some careless play by -BZF- Valea Buzăului's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gheorghe Şelaru was slow to take the kick. During this time Otelul Darmanesti's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Dale Fowler almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Manole Tăcutu did a great save. Nae Pavel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dănuț Roman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 14 minutes, Iona Tudora mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the -BZF- Valea Buzăului and the Otelul Darmanesti players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Iona Tudora got a free kick in the 14th minute. Vladimir Lenin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Manole Tăcutu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nae Pavel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgil Mincu in the 18th minute of play. Manole Tăcutu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladimir Lenin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 25 minutes into the game, Otelul Darmanesti's Dennis Berardinelli nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Manole Tăcutu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Nae Pavel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ana Ţugui in the 28th minute of the match. Nae Pavel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dănuț Roman in the 29th minute of play. If Milosz Gabis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nae Pavel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgil Mincu, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Manole Tăcutu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Milosz Gabis in the 37th minute of play. Milosz Gabis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Otelul Darmanesti's Vladimir Lenin in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye -BZF- Valea Buzăului's goalie prevented a goal. Nae Pavel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgil Mincu, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 48thth minute of the game Vladimir Lenin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Manole Tăcutu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vladimir Lenin in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manole Tăcutu saved -BZF- Valea Buzăului from getting behind. Manole Tăcutu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dennis Berardinelli in the 55th minute of play. Gheorghe Şelaru took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Manole Tăcutu. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Manole Tăcutu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vladimir Lenin in the 68th minute of play. Dennis Berardinelli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the -BZF- Valea Buzăului defense, Vladimir Lenin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Manole Tăcutu. The -BZF- Valea Buzăului fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Manole Tăcutu should have stopped the shot. In the 72nd minute, Vladimir Lenin made a precise shot to the right of Manole Tăcutu. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Kennet Johansson kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Milosz Gabis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manole Tăcutu having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Otelul Darmanesti's zone, Dănuț Roman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nae Pavel came out of the goal and Dănuț Roman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 82nd minute, Vladimir Lenin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vladimir Lenin scored 4-1 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Manole Tăcutu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vladimir Lenin in the 89th minute of play forced -BZF- Valea Buzăului's goalkeeper Manole Tăcutu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 94 played minutes -BZF- Valea Buzăului got a freekick which was hit by Cosmin Constantin. Manole Tăcutu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Milosz Gabis, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. When Köksal Şimşektürk fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored -BZF- Valea Buzăului's protests and gave Köksal Şimşektürk a yellow card for diving instead. In the 96th minute, Köksal Şimşektürk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Otelul Darmanesti had played much better football throughout.
