Achim Krankenbroker came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Romania's Cazimir Pătran. But to his dismay, Cazimir Pătran quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian Şerb in the 40th minute of play forced FC ANTO's goalkeeper Achim Krankenbroker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes into the game, Damian Şerb cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Achim Krankenbroker was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 47 played minutes FC ANTO got a freekick which was hit by Lucrețiu Botescu. After recieving a nice pass, Romania's Petrică Chificeac tried to score from far away in the 47th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After the first half Romania were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 51st minute, Grigore Zgondea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, Romania's Achim Krankenbroker threw himself towards the right post 63 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cazimir Pătran, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Damian Şerb put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Achim Krankenbroker. Romania's supporters rose to their feet, but Cazimir Pătran was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Achim Krankenbroker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leontin Racoviceanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cosmin Ailioaiei in the 94th minute of play. Achim Krankenbroker made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dumitru Panciu in the 97th minute. When the match had gone on for 97 minutes, Cazimir Pătran put it in 0-7 from a short distance just to the right of Achim Krankenbroker. Romania's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
