Paul Miclescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Eric Pricop showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Cristoiu in the 11th minute of the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 12 minutes into the game, when Mihai Paulică put in a rough tackle. Eric Pricop made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Ciolpan in the 13th minute of play. After 14 minutes, Șerban Şteţ mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Ostroveni and the Gloria Bistrita players grew even worse after the yellow card. Șerban Şteţ kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, FC Ostroveni's goal looked a bit too open when Corneliu Bodnar came free, but Eric Pricop reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Victor Cristoiu took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eric Pricop. Eric Pricop dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dragoş Miniș in the 24th minute of play forced FC Ostroveni's goalkeeper Eric Pricop to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Gloria Bistrita's goalkeeper Paul Miclescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luca Buricea. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Luca Buricea managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Ostroveni's supporters rose to their feet, but Luca Buricea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paul Miclescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Gloria Bistrita booed when FC Ostroveni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Șerban Şteţ didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 43rd minute, Gloria Bistrita's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Luca Buricea fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Victor Cristoiu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th match minute, FC Ostroveni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Buricea to maneuver through the defense. If Marcu Manciulea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st match minute, FC Ostroveni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Panait Ipătescu to maneuver through the defense. Paul Miclescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Panait Ipătescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 71st minute, Adrian Hanganu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Luca Buricea came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the FC Ostroveni fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luca Buricea couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, FC Ostroveni's Șerban Şteţ got a free kick in the 75th minute. Victor Cristoiu's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Eric Pricop firmly grabbed it by the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vintilă Trăilă during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 90 played minutes Gloria Bistrita got a freekick which was hit by Vintilă Trăilă. FC Ostroveni's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
