Nae Boteanu hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Nae Boteanu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 12thth minute tested the skills of Zeus Phoenix when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Ivan Ciuvică came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the AS Fulgerul Ploieşti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Ciuvică couldn't finish the play. Halinga's Zeus Phoenix proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Halinga from getting a goal against them. After 16 played minutes AS Fulgerul Ploieşti got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Ciuvică. Luca Halipa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shekwodiza Opeyemi in the 23rd minute of play. Iurie Bucataru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Nae Boteanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Zeus Phoenix took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nae Boteanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute AS Fulgerul Ploieşti were awarded a corner. Pompiliu Cristocea went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Pompiliu Cristocea almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Halinga's Zeus Phoenix did a great save. In the 44th minute, Pompiliu Cristocea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 46th minute, Denis Constantiniu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nae Boteanu was the one to do the kick off. Luca Halipa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iurie Bucataru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zeus Phoenix showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivan Ciuvică, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Zeus Phoenix stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ivan Ciuvică's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. In the 63rd match minute, AS Fulgerul Ploieşti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nae Boteanu to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute, Nae Boteanu fired away a hard free kick towards the goal. Zeus Phoenix moved to his left, but didn't have to make a save as the ball went out of bounds. Shekwodiza Opeyemi kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. 65 minutes into the game, Nae Boteanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AS Fulgerul Ploieşti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Halinga the free kick. In the 65th minute, Nae Boteanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Nae Boteanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. AS Fulgerul Ploieşti's supporters rose to their feet, but Nae Boteanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zeus Phoenix breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Halinga's Shekwodiza Opeyemi got a free kick in the 77th minute. Martin Iacobeanu hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Zeus Phoenix came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by AS Fulgerul Ploieşti's Nae Boteanu. But to his dismay, Nae Boteanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. AS Fulgerul Ploieşti made a substitution. Manuel Antohi replaced Sandu Țâpu. Zeus Phoenix didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ivan Ciuvică went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Nae Boteanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. AS Fulgerul Ploieşti's supporters rose to their feet, but Nae Boteanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zeus Phoenix breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Denis Constantiniu's late challenge caught a AS Fulgerul Ploieşti's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Denis Constantiniu helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Halinga's Denis Constantiniu got a free kick in the 94th minute. AS Fulgerul Ploieşti walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
