Iustin Ivănescu kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the match, Silviu Nedelciu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ionel Gâlcă. UNIREA FOCSANI's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Silviu Nedelciu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 15th minute Paolo Rumaldo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ionel Gâlcă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. AS Florilor - BV's Gigi Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valer Opaina in the 33rd minute of play. Gigi Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferdinand Medrea in the 35th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paolo Rumaldo in the 36th minute of play forced UNIREA FOCSANI's goalkeeper Ionel Gâlcă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute, AS Florilor - BV's Nicodim Donose ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ionel Gâlcă. Ionel Gâlcă yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. After some careless play in the AS Florilor - BV defense, Alan Eenmaa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gigi Buffon. The AS Florilor - BV fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gigi Buffon should have stopped the shot.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Valer Opaina to strike the kick off in the second half. Valer Opaina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gigi Buffon having to interfere. After 53 played minutes UNIREA FOCSANI got a freekick which was hit by Ferdinand Medrea. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paolo Rumaldo in the 59th minute of play forced UNIREA FOCSANI's goalkeeper Ionel Gâlcă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 59 minutes into the match, UNIREA FOCSANI's goal looked a bit too open when Paolo Rumaldo came free, but Ionel Gâlcă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
