Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Valer Corduneanu was out of position in the 6 minute of play, and Nicu Birișu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nicu Birișu really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Valer Corduneanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dacian Luican in the 9th minute of play. After 13 minutes Decindeni AS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sever Chelaru who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Steaua Bucuresti's corner Sever Chelaru fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gláuber Camargo quite easily take care of the ball. Valer Corduneanu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Pompiliu Botea showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 18 minute of play. Decindeni AS's Gláuber Camargo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Radu Panaite in the 20th minute of play. Basarab Neicu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gláuber Camargo having to interfere. In the 26th minute Radu Panaite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gláuber Camargo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Sever Chelaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicu Birișu in the 36th minute of play forced Steaua Bucuresti's goalkeeper Valer Corduneanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute of the match, Codruț Bâlea tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Valer Corduneanu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 41st minute Basarab Neicu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gláuber Camargo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 46th minute Radu Panaite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gláuber Camargo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Radu Panaite stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If David Guriță had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Decindeni AS's goalkeeper Gláuber Camargo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Codruț Bâlea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Valer Corduneanu came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Decindeni AS's Costin Musceleanu. But to his dismay, Costin Musceleanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. 66 minutes into the game, one of Steaua Bucuresti:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After a defensive mix-up in Decindeni AS's zone, Sever Chelaru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gláuber Camargo came out of the goal and Sever Chelaru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valer Corduneanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Codruț Bâlea in the 75th minute of play. If Costin Musceleanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 81 minutes into the match, Costin Musceleanu notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Steaua Bucuresti's Valer Corduneanu. Valer Corduneanu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Codruț Bâlea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicu Birișu in the 89th minute of play forced Steaua Bucuresti's goalkeeper Valer Corduneanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 90 minutes, Sever Chelaru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Steaua Bucuresti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sever Chelaru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Decindeni AS fans cheered their team off the field, for while Steaua Bucuresti had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
