FC VULTURII LUGOJ's Kartal Oğuz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Grigore Moșanu in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute of the match Fc Gimmel Baia Mare-MM- got a corner. FC VULTURII LUGOJ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sorin Floreanu ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ovidiu Dincă stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luis Figo's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Figo in the 93rd minute of play forced Fc Gimmel Baia Mare-MM-'s goalkeeper Ovidiu Dincă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Fc Gimmel Baia Mare-MM- eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
