Unirea Podu Iloaiei's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Virgil Barbălată came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by FC VULTURII LUGOJ's Mauro Abraão. But to his dismay, Mauro Abraão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Virgil Barbălată made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Gong Guang Yao sent off a good shot on target. When FC VULTURII LUGOJ's Mauro Abraão in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Unirea Podu Iloaiei's goalie prevented a goal. 21 minutes into the match, Unirea Podu Iloaiei's goalkeeper Virgil Barbălată had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rafael Corrêa. In the 22nd minute Mauro Abraão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgil Barbălată saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Virgil Barbălată was a little too slow when Mauro Abraão got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 24th minute. The score was now 4-0. After 30 played minutes Unirea Podu Iloaiei got a freekick which was hit by Ion Vulpe. Virgil Barbălată made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Rafael Corrêa sent off a good shot on target. In the 34th minute Mauro Abraão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgil Barbălată saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gong Guang Yao's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Virgil Barbălată firmly grabbed it by the left post. The supporters of Unirea Podu Iloaiei booed when FC VULTURII LUGOJ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adorján Kodály didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gong Guang Yao could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Virgil Barbălată made a huge save. Virgil Barbălată took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Abraão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute, one of Unirea Podu Iloaiei:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Unirea Podu Iloaiei. Virgil Barbălată had in the 48thth minute some difficulties stopping Rafael Corrêa's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his right side, but he still managed to hold the ball Virgil Barbălată was out of position in the 48 minute of play, and Rafael Corrêa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rafael Corrêa really showed his touch with that goal: 5-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rafael Corrêa made a kick off. After some careless play in the Unirea Podu Iloaiei defense, Mauro Abraão kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Virgil Barbălată. The Unirea Podu Iloaiei fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Virgil Barbălată should have stopped the shot. 62 minutes into the match, Rafael Corrêa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Virgil Barbălată. Unirea Podu Iloaiei's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rafael Corrêa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. 67 minutes into the match, FC VULTURII LUGOJ's Luis Figo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Virgil Barbălată narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Figo in the 68th minute of play forced Unirea Podu Iloaiei's goalkeeper Virgil Barbălată to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th minute Luis Figo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgil Barbălată saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The FC VULTURII LUGOJ fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when FC VULTURII LUGOJ's Luis Figo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 8-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. FC VULTURII LUGOJ's George Şneapotă was substituted for Manole Bojin. Virgil Barbălată came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by FC VULTURII LUGOJ's Augustin Hurmuzescu. But to his dismay, Augustin Hurmuzescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-0. Unirea Podu Iloaiei's Virgil Barbălată played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Figo in the 79th minute of play. If Gong Guang Yao had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gong Guang Yao recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Unirea Podu Iloaiei's Virgil Barbălată played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauro Abraão in the 85th minute of play. 86 minutes into the game, FC VULTURII LUGOJ's Gong Guang Yao nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Virgil Barbălată made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 10-0. Leontin Trifu scored 11-0 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Virgil Barbălată, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Valer Lăzan hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. In the 97th minute, Mauro Abraão made a precise shot to the right of Virgil Barbălată. Unirea Podu Iloaiei's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 12-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. FC VULTURII LUGOJ fully deserved thier win.
