Nazım Taci recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Manuel Onete showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nazım Taci in the 23rd minute of the match. CSM ALEXANDRIA's Manuel Onete played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Rijkaard in the 25th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toro Díaz in the 27th minute of play forced CSM ALEXANDRIA's goalkeeper Manuel Onete to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Nazım Taci had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Manuel Onete. CSM ALEXANDRIA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nazım Taci was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. 33 minutes into the match, CSM ALEXANDRIA's goal looked a bit too open when Nazım Taci came free, but Manuel Onete reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Iustin Panaitoiu to make the kick off. Ionel Magheru got a throw-in 55 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Iustin Panaitoiu. In the 56th minute of the match, Basarab Panduru tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Manuel Onete saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Berkan Temel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. New York Red Bulls's Berkan Temel was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 59th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Berkan Temel managed to get in a good position for a shot. New York Red Bulls's supporters rose to their feet, but Berkan Temel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manuel Onete breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 69th minute, Frank Rijkaard ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Manuel Onete was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. The supporters of CSM ALEXANDRIA booed when New York Red Bulls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basarab Panduru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manuel Onete made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Berkan Temel in the 77th minute of play. The throw-in from Ionel Magheru in the 80th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by New York Red Bulls's Frank Rijkaard. Manuel Onete didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 87th minute, which inside left pole to 0-9. Ionel Magheru made in the 90th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Ovidiu Marina immediately put the ball in play. Berkan Temel might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Manuel Onete. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Berkan Temel ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Frank Rijkaard managed to get in a good position for a shot. New York Red Bulls's supporters rose to their feet, but Frank Rijkaard was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manuel Onete breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 98 played minutes New York Red Bulls got a freekick which was hit by Doru Coman. New York Red Bulls played a much better game than CSM ALEXANDRIA and deserved their victory. The CSM ALEXANDRIA players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
