Bogdan Crivoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Hernánde Delzo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute of the match Elfii got a corner. Olympique de Marseille's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Altan Çağa ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Elfii's Altan Çağa to fire away a dangerous shot which Bogdan Crivoi despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 25 minutes, Miguel Hernánde Delzo made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Olympique de Marseille's Bogdan Crivoi tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horaţiu Lupșe in the 29th minute of play forced Elfii's goalkeeper Ciprian Siteavu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute Olympique de Marseille were awarded a corner. Emil Nicoliță went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Olympique de Marseille's Emil Nicoliță to fire away a dangerous shot which Ciprian Siteavu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Bogdan Crivoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vintilă Bădulescu in the 32nd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, Elfii's goalkeeper Ciprian Siteavu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Horaţiu Lupșe. Bogdan Crivoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nichifor Gheban, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nichifor Gheban fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bogdan Crivoi having to interfere. Bogdan Crivoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Townson in the 42nd minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Altan Çağa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Bogdan Crivoi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nichifor Gheban in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bogdan Crivoi saved Olympique de Marseille from getting behind. When the match clock showed 56 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Vintilă Bădulescu sped through Olympique de Marseille's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bogdan Crivoi. In the 59th minute Luca Feteanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciprian Siteavu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Nichifor Gheban had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 66 minutes into the match, Elfii's goal looked a bit too open when Horaţiu Lupșe came free, but Ciprian Siteavu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Altan Çağa made a great header on Elfii's corner, it was just that Olympique de Marseille's Bogdan Crivoi managed to reach the ball for a save. Nichifor Gheban sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute, Pavel Ponta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Olympique de Marseille's zone, Vintilă Bădulescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bogdan Crivoi came out of the goal and Vintilă Bădulescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Elfii eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
