In the 22nd minute Aurelio Mederi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardinho Lopes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olimpiu Josan in the 23rd minute of play forced A.C. Milan's goalkeeper Costin Giugiuc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aquilino Ponte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Costin Giugiuc having to interfere. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricardinho Lopes prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
