With an all-out effort, Fotbal Club Vaslui's Nechifor Zeciu threw himself towards the right post 25 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Traian Traian, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling George Lewandowski in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andrei Oloieru prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 29th minute, George Lewandowski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Andrei Oloieru was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Traian Traian who after having made a long run got a chance for a shot on goal. Despite a couple of nice moves Nechifor Zeciu's wasn't to be fooled and made an easy save when Traian Traian was beeing forced to shoot. In the 41st minute, Costin Loghin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fotbal Club Vaslui's Gil Fernandez managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Ion Chelbea in the 44 minute of the game.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Traian Traian was the one to do the kick off. Steffen Kerckmans made in the 58th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Traian Traian. Costin Loghin hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Fotbal Club Vaslui's Andrei Oloieru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cenap İğdemir in the 94th minute of play.
