The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes had been played when some careless play by AFC Nirosxn 08's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Iulian Nicorici was slow to take the kick. During this time F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's players had a chance to rest. After 5 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for AFC Nirosxn 08! Gheorghe Bociort might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mugurel Slătineanu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gheorghe Bociort ran back to his position shaking his head. Iacob Povară came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by AFC Nirosxn 08's Ionică Savu. But to his dismay, Ionică Savu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The supporters of AFC Nirosxn 08 booed when F.C CLUJ MEDICINA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gheorghe Bociort didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute Gheorghe Bociort shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mugurel Slătineanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iacob Povară showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laurențiu Todericiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as AFC Nirosxn 08's Ionică Savu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Iacob Povară. That made the score 2-1 after 31 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, AFC Nirosxn 08's Emil Atanasiu got a free kick in the 38th minute. After some careless play in the F.C CLUJ MEDICINA defense, David Jönsätt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iacob Povară. The F.C CLUJ MEDICINA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iacob Povară should have stopped the shot. The supporters of F.C CLUJ MEDICINA booed when AFC Nirosxn 08 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ionică Savu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gheorghe Bociort made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurențiu Todericiu in the 56th minute of play forced F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's goalkeeper Iacob Povară to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mugurel Slătineanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gheorghe Bociort, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after AFC Nirosxn 08's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Iulian Nicorici took the corner. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's Iulian Nicorici was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mugurel Slătineanu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Laurențiu Todericiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iacob Povară having to interfere. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's Silviu Latarețu was substituted for Gheorghe Bociort. In the 66th minute Ştefan Bogrea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iacob Povară saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Jönsätt in the 67th minute of play forced F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's goalkeeper Iacob Povară to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's Iacob Povară played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ionică Savu in the 69th minute of play. Mugurel Slătineanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silviu Latarețu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd minute Laurențiu Todericiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iacob Povară saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes had been played when some careless play by F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Iacob Povară showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emil Atanasiu in the 75th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silviu Latarețu in the 78th minute of play forced AFC Nirosxn 08's goalkeeper Mugurel Slătineanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute, Ionică Savu made a precise shot to the right of Iacob Povară. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. Francisc Ciocoiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92nd minute, Luca Pancu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The AFC Nirosxn 08 fans cheered their team off the field, for while F.C CLUJ MEDICINA had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
