The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luca Jivulescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shi Li in the 7th minute of the match. Octavian Soare made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mugur Chiriac in the 12th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baal Ares in the 13th minute of play forced Galati Harbour Cats's goalkeeper Octavian Soare to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iordache Negrițoiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Galati Harbour Cats's Octavian Soare played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karadeniz Otay in the 18th minute of play. Galati Harbour Cats's Sebastian Covataru managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Pete Wray in the 21 minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shi Li in the 26th minute of play forced Ares FC -MM-'s goalkeeper Luca Jivulescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Ares FC -MM- defense, Shi Li kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luca Jivulescu. The Ares FC -MM- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luca Jivulescu should have stopped the shot. Galati Harbour Cats's Octavian Soare proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Galati Harbour Cats from getting a goal against them. Octavian Soare made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mugur Chiriac in the 41st minute. In the 46th match minute, Ares FC -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucrețiu Cuculeanu to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Galati Harbour Cats were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Shi Li was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Galati Harbour Cats's goal looked a bit too open when Baal Ares came free, but Octavian Soare reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Iordache Negrițoiu came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Galati Harbour Cats fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iordache Negrițoiu couldn't finish the play. Jörgen Sundström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
