In the 10th minute of the match, İlhami Akyazıcı tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Cai Yue Guang saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Cai Yue Guang didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zhao Sen Yang went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 43 minutes into the match, Zhao Sen Yang dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cai Yue Guang, 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

58 minutes into the match, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Zhao Sen Yang sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cai Yue Guang narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Eric Păvăloae could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Diki Doro made a huge save. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Emil Wielopolski was substituted for Grigore Maghiran. In the 71st minute of the match Ninjas in Pyjamas got a corner. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Andrei Cosor ran over to the corner to take the kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Eric Păvăloae managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ninjas in Pyjamas's supporters rose to their feet, but Eric Păvăloae was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diki Doro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Stasio Bienienda was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Cai Yue Guang in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Andrei Cosor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ricardo Jenaro hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Diki Doro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrei Cosor, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Cai Yue Guang showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zhao Sen Yang in the 92nd minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ninjas in Pyjamas players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-.
