The Santos FC Moldova fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ciprian Pricop should have stopped the shot. Ciprian Pricop took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Bold, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cricova's Stefan Grimalschi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandu Ciocan in the 16th minute of play. Santos FC Moldova's Sandu Ciocan was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 22nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Stefan Grimalschi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandu Ciocan in the 29th minute of the match. Ciprian Pricop made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ghitã Ilie in the 32nd minute of play. Ciprian Pricop took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nichifor Izvoreanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute Ghitã Ilie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciprian Pricop saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 36 played minutes Santos FC Moldova got a freekick which was hit by Dumitru Corlãteanu. When Mihail Darie came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Cricova fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mihail Darie couldn't finish the play. In the 42nd minute Mihail Darie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciprian Pricop saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 42 minutes into the game, Mihail Darie cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Ciprian Pricop was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 47 minutes into the match, Santos FC Moldova's goal looked a bit too open when Nichifor Izvoreanu came free, but Ciprian Pricop reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Santos FC Moldova players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cricova were winning 1-3.

Stefan Grimalschi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ciprian Pricop came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Cricova's Nichifor Izvoreanu. But to his dismay, Nichifor Izvoreanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-5. 73 minutes into the match, Santos FC Moldova's goalkeeper Ciprian Pricop had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ghitã Ilie. Stefan Grimalschi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sandu Ciocan's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. Mihail Darie's late challenge caught a Santos FC Moldova's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mihail Darie helped the player get up and apologised.
