An unexpectedly hard shot by Petru Blanari in the 3rd minute of play forced Donduseni CSF's goalkeeper Iosif Cucu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Petru Blanari charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Petru Blanari the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Petru Blanari hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Iosif Cucu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dragos Butuc, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Petru Blanari got his second yellow card in the match during the 12th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Sheriff Tiraspol's goalkeeper Pavlo Kotyuk, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Donduseni CSF defense, Cristian Dudãu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iosif Cucu. The Donduseni CSF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iosif Cucu should have stopped the shot. If Leonid Vântu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dragos Butuc kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, FC Sheriff Tiraspol's goal looked a bit too open when Leonid Vântu came free, but Pavlo Kotyuk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Marin Ilies had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Sheriff Tiraspol's goalkeeper Pavlo Kotyuk, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 38th minute, Cristian Dudãu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Iosif Cucu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Iosif Cucu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vlad Curcã in the 45th minute of the match. After the first half FC Sheriff Tiraspol were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cristian Dudãu to make the kick off. Leonid Vântu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Pavlo Kotyuk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in FC Sheriff Tiraspol's zone, Vitalie Cepoi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pavlo Kotyuk came out of the goal and Vitalie Cepoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pavlo Kotyuk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitalie Cepoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. FC Sheriff Tiraspol's Pavlo Kotyuk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonid Vântu in the 64th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Leonid Vântu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pavlo Kotyuk was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Ghenadie Perju's late challenge caught a FC Sheriff Tiraspol's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. A very good chance. Leonid Vântu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Pavlo Kotyuk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 94th minute Dragos Butuc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iosif Cucu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
